What can we as ordinary citizens do to create a healthy environment? Are we helpless in the face of the current madness?

“What madness?” you might ask. When a resource becomes scarce, nations historically go to war over it. Since we know that we are running out of oil, going to war over oil is quite mad, stupid and destructive in the extreme. Our focus, energies, research and resources should be devoted to exploring and developing clean renewable energy such as solar, wind, geo-thermal, hydrogen, and possibly—in the light of new evidence—cold fusion.

Make no mistake; heads of state, governments are quite capable of making terrible choices and following policies that are contrary to their own interests. The prominent historian, Barbara W. Tuchman documents historical examples from Troy to Vietnam in her book, The March of Folly.
